Meet Kate.

Kate loves to create life affirming and joyful works that are about love, family, friends and connection.

These abstracted, colourful landscapes are rendered in thick, buttery oil paint with the horse being a motif often explored within these magical realms. For her, the horses are a nostalgic look at childhood dreams and when Kate is painting them, they represent energetic beings i.e. People and other animals in her world.

Inspiration comes from every-day and from a little bit of everything. It might be the colour of her friend’s lipstick, the beauty of her surroundings, Kate’s daily walks with her dog Seb or from a collection of special memories with her family and friends. All are painted from memory and imagination. These snippets of places, experiences, colours and shapes are swirled together in the studio to express Kate’s feelings at the time.

Her work is visceral, naïve and painterly and painted from the heart of the child within.

”I hope it speaks to the heart of the child in you and serves as a reminder to celebrate life through play.”
- Kate
